We bought a Homestead this past Fall.
We had a mini-farm in our back yard, in the city, a few years ago. We had chickens, meat rabbits, dog, cat, nice gardens on .33 acres.
Then we moved to a more rural area to find land. We had 2 acres that we rented with a house for a while. It was great for the kids with a large garden, less chickens and our rabbits. We had a great time learning how to live off of local resources vs. big grocery chains. We were introduced to raw milk, grass-fed beef, free range pork and making our own cleaners and soaps.
We had a brief time in town until we found land here in Indiana near my husband’s family. We gardened at our family’s house that first summer. Now we are living on our own homestead of 17 acres, mostly wooded, but beautiful.
Join us on our homestead through posts on all of the above mentioned things we have learned plus the great new things we are currently learning.
